FAQ
Your questions, answered clearly.
Everything you might want to know about the two services, how they differ, what is covered, and how to begin.
The two services
Two separate kinds of telehealth care. Service one is psychiatry and mental-health care, which is insurance-based. Service two is a metabolic-health and GLP-1 program, which is cash-pay. They have different goals, different intake forms, and different ways of being paid. You can use one without the other.
If you are looking for help with how you feel and think day to day, such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, sleep, mood, trauma, or stress, that is the psychiatry service. If you are looking for support with your weight and metabolic health, including GLP-1 care when appropriate, that is the metabolic-health service. If you are not sure, start with whichever fits best, or call and ask.
No. The metabolic-health program is completely separate and does not require a psychiatry membership or visit. You can start it on its own.
Yes. Some people use both services because mental health and metabolic health are connected. Each one still has its own separate intake and payment.
Psychiatry and mental health
Children age 6 and older, teens, and adults who are located in New Mexico. Requesting an appointment does not guarantee acceptance. Care is individualized after a clinical evaluation.
Common reasons people come in include ADHD, anxiety, depression, PTSD and trauma-related symptoms, OCD, panic symptoms, sleep concerns, mood concerns, stress and life transitions, and men's mental health.
We talk through your symptoms, history, day to day, and goals in a relaxed, judgment-free setting. By the end you will have a clearer understanding of your options and a practical next step. It is a real conversation, not a rushed checklist.
I do prescribe when it is appropriate. Medication decisions are individualized and based on clinical appropriateness, safety, and applicable regulations. No specific medication, including stimulants or other controlled substances, is promised or guaranteed before an evaluation.
The focus is psychiatric evaluation and medication management, with practical, supportive guidance. If you would also benefit from talk therapy, we can talk about how to add that to your care.
Metabolic health and GLP-1
A personalized, clinician-reviewed program that supports your weight and metabolic-health goals over time, with a real plan and ongoing follow-up. When it is clinically appropriate, that can include a GLP-1 pathway.
There is no guarantee of any specific medication or any amount of weight loss. A GLP-1 plan is considered only when it is clinically appropriate for you, and your results are individual. The program is medical care, not a shortcut.
It is a separate, cash-pay program with its own intake on Push Health. It is not billed to insurance and does not require a psychiatry visit.
No. Compounded medications are not FDA-approved. If they are ever discussed, they are prescribed only when clinically appropriate.
Insurance, cost, and getting started
In New Mexico, the plans currently in-network are Aetna, Carelon Behavioral Health, and Cigna. Participation may vary by plan and is subject to change. Your specific benefits are verified before your appointment.
For psychiatry, your estimated cost depends on your specific insurance benefits, which are verified before your visit so you know your cost up front. The metabolic-health program is cash-pay.
