Board-certified PMHNP New Mexico telehealth Adults 18+

Psychiatric care, with metabolic clinical depth.

Board-certified PMHNP telehealth for adults. We hold the connection most clinics split apart — between mood, cognition, food noise, and the metabolic side of psychiatric medication.

Kevin Lazar, MSN, PMHNP-BC Founding provider · Albuquerque, NM
01 What this is

One practice for the parts of psychiatry that usually get split up.

Most clinics treat mood in one room and metabolic side effects in another. For many patients those are the same problem. We hold both.

Mood & cognition

Depression, anxiety, mood disorders, cognitive load. Medication management with structured follow-up.

Metabolic side of psych meds

Antipsychotic-related metabolic changes, food noise, appetite shifts from SSRIs and mood stabilizers. Measured, not waved off.

GLP-1 as adjunct

Integrated into psychiatric care when clinically appropriate. Not a standalone weight clinic, and not for everyone.

We do not treat what we don't have the clinical depth for. We do not prescribe what we can't responsibly monitor. We do not market what we don't believe in.

04 About the practice
Kevin Lazar, MSN, PMHNP-BC Board-certified psychiatric mental-health nurse practitioner. Albuquerque, New Mexico.

One provider. One careful clinical scope.

WellnessRx is run by Kevin Lazar — a board-certified PMHNP with full practice authority in New Mexico and a clinical focus on the metabolic side of psychiatric medication.

The practice is deliberately narrow. Psychiatric medication management is the work. Metabolic awareness is built into every visit — antipsychotic effects, SSRI-related appetite shifts, food noise, glucose and lipid trends, the medications that affect them.

Care is patient-centered, evidence-led, and metabolically aware. Every visit accounts for both the mind and what the medication is doing to the body.

05 Common questions

Before you book.

Do you take insurance?

No. WellnessRx is a cash-pay subscription practice. Receipts can be submitted to your insurer or HSA/FSA at your discretion; reimbursement is between you and your insurer.

What states do you serve?

New Mexico residents only at this time. We will add states as licensure and clinical capacity allow. Sign up for the waitlist if you'd like to be notified.

Do you prescribe controlled substances?

Not at this time. The practice currently does not prescribe stimulants, benzodiazepines, or other Schedule II–IV medications. This is a deliberate clinical scope decision and is reviewed periodically.

What about GLP-1 medications?

GLP-1 medications are offered only as an adjunct to psychiatric care when clinically appropriate and only after appropriate metabolic evaluation. This is not a standalone weight-management clinic. GLP-1 medications offered by the practice are compounded and are not reviewed by the FDA in the same way as commercially manufactured medications.

Is this a real patient-provider relationship?

It becomes one only after intake is reviewed and accepted by the provider and a first visit takes place. Submitting an intake or browsing the site does not establish a clinical relationship.

Can I pause or cancel?

Yes, at any time. No contracts. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle. Active prescriptions are honored to the end of the dispense period.
